Seventy percent of all
illegal drug users are employed.
This suggests over 10 million
people are current users of illicit drugs.
One in twelve full time employees
self-reports current use of illicit drugs.
One in every ten people in
the United States has an alcohol problem.
U.S. Chamber of
Commerce has found that:
Employees who are unable to
cope with today's work/life changes disturb the business process significantly
They work at only 2/3's
capacity
They cost business $100
billion yearly in lost productivity.
Employees who are impaired
collect 3 times as much sick pay and use health insurance benefits 9 times more
often.

visits to family physicians are stress related.
49% of workplace deaths and
47% of accidents are drug related.

What happens when
you call GHE’s counselor?
You call our
toll free number (866-GHE-EAPS) and you will be connected to a counselor close
to your workplace or home.
The operator
asks a minimum number of questions to determine whom you need to talk to.
Shortly after,
you meet face to face with the counselor for your initial free EAP consultation
and evaluation.

Our Counselor will make recommendations that will meet your needs.
You
can check out our Web Page for additional suggestions.
You
can help fellow employees by making recommendations of community organizations
that have helped you. We will include the resource on your agency Web Page.

GHE Counselor
Credentials:
All counselors
have demonstrated expertise in short-term problem oriented therapy.
All
counselors will see our clients shortly after contact and emergencies are
always a priority.
GHE has back-up
counselors available, with similar credentials.
On average, each
of our counselors has been in practice for 15 years.
